Wasp Lamp

The Wasp table lamp is a stricking piece during the day, with curved lines and a combination of matte black metal and mustard yellow milk glass; that gives a warm glow when it is lighted on and casts impressive shadows due to the gaps on its lid.

It is made out of an amber milk glass shade from the early 70s (turned upside-down), a metallic base from an old lamp, a 'lid' of mysterious origin (I got it like that, and the seller didn't know about its former use either), topped with a brass lamp part and a gorgeous, old huge Art Déco bakelite drawer knob. I have sprayed the metallic parts in matte black to get a nice contrast with the shiny glass shade, the switch and plug are black as well and the cotton cord has the same mustard colour as the glass.

Measures: 26cm diameter at its widest point, 30cm high.

The parts, before their transformation -and spraying some of them with a nice matte black paint (the base, the lid and the brass lamp part used for the topping underneath the bakelite ball)
