Green Butterfly Tray

I have recently made three empty-your-pockets trays out of several maple wood carved bowls. You can see the details of the story and the white one here, and read about the third one here.

For this one I mixed some water based enamel paint to get a fresh, bright grass green colour. It is Springtime after all! (also, as usual, I have distressed the surface and protected it with a clear satin varnish)
The body of the butterfly is an antique, quite ornated, cast-brass escutcheon. I cut the drop pull off and sanded the remnants to get a smooth flat surface, then polished the whole piece, and added part of a vintage necklace that has curved threads of brass and copper to make the antenna.

This cute, useful country-chic tray measures 26x13 cm.
